Anders Zorn was 20th century artist from Sweden. He lived between the years 1860 -1920. He was a successful painter, sculptor and printmaker in etching! In the Gilded Age artist Anders Zorn  became the society painter of Swedish royalty and American presidents. While his modern portraits filled his coffers it was Zorn’s deeply felt and excellently executed oil paintings of everyday Swedish life along with his studies of female nudes in nature that would win him a lasting international reputation as Sweden’s premier painter. His early travels took him to Spain and Algeria where the intense color and light inspired the virtuoso watercolorist to perfect his craft. In Paris he emulated the Impressionists as a chronicler of modern life, while in America he rivaled John Singer Sargent as the most sought-after portraitist of glittering high society. Back at home Zorn captured his native folk culture and the serenity of the Nordic landscape. To see more of his work: [http://www.anderszorn.org/ ] The Complete Works of Anders Zorn
