This style of painting was discovered in 1964 by the Merry Pranksters (led by Ken Kesey). The group was on a road trip across the United States in a psychedelic bus when they got stuck in the mud in the middle of nowhere in Arizona. They then decided it was the perfect opportunity for all of them to take LSD (this would later be known as their first famous "trip"). While they were frolicking in the mud and creek, someone spilled oil based paint into the water. Amazed by the way the paint floated and spread on top of the water, they decided to add more colors and dip Kesey's only nice white t-shirt into the trippy water and discovered "Prankster Art". You can purchase this handpainted "prankster art" made by Ken Kesey's son, Zane Kesey Here.
