Tom Killion was born in the Bay Area and uses linoleum and wood to make intricate hand-carved plates for printing. His work is mainly landscape scenes, and he uses a wide range of colors and textures. Many of his prints are landscapes from the Bay Area and the Sierras, so I find that I can connect to his art because of these familiar images. I went to one of his art openings once, and he showed me his process for making plates. The amount of work that goes into each print is truly amazing.
